Dexter McCleon Jr for Sports Illustrated Kids

Back in 2024, I was commissioned to photograph Dexter McCleon Jr. of Buford High School for Sports Illustrated Kids. Dexter McCleon Jr. is a standout baseball prospect from Buford, Georgia, widely regarded as one of the top players in the Class of 2028. Known for his elite athleticism, powerful bat, and two-way ability as both an outfielder and pitcher, he’s quickly becoming one of the most talked-about young talents in the country. His father, Dexter McCleon Sr, is a former NFL cornerback who played nine seasons with the St. Louis Rams, Kansas City Chiefs, and Houston Texans. A key member of the Rams’ 1999 Super Bowl–winning team, he was known for his speed, coverage skills, and leadership on and off the field.
